Antonino Bonetta nasce a Canicattì (AG) nel 1987. Si trasferisce nel 1995 in Germania con la famiglia, qui frequenta le scuole dell’obbligo, specializzandosi in meccanica seguendo così le orme del padre Gaetano. «Ho capito subito, però, che quello non era il mio destino». Ecco allora nel 2005 la svolta: Antonino inizia a lavorare come commis in vari ristoranti. Terminati gli studi di meccanica nel 2007 inizia la scuola alberghiera.
Preso il diploma nel 2010, per quattro anni Antonino Bonetta metterà in pratica le nozioni apprese tra i banchi di scuola in diversi ristoranti, anche gourmet, tra la Francia (precisamente a Sainte-Maxime, in Provenza) e l’Italia.
Nel 2014 il ritorno in Germania porta Antonino a Colonia, nelle cucine del Ristorante Il Valentino, di cui l’anno successivo diviene anche proprietario. È qui che il giovane chef siciliano vuole raccontare nei propri piatti le radici e le tradizioni della sua terra. Nel farlo bilancia in maniera scrupolosa il proprio gusto personale con il rispetto delle materie prime e della stagionalità.

Antonino Bonetta was born in Canicattì, Agrigento, in 1987. He moved to Germany with his family in 1995 where he attented school specializing in mechanics, following in his father footsteps.
«I realized soon that it was not my destiny», he says. The turning point came in 2005: Antonino started working as a commis in several restaurants. After mechanics school he started the hotel school.
He graduated in 2010 and for the following four years he practiced what he learned in school in several restaurants, some of them gourmet, between France (precisely in Sainte-Maxime, Provence) and Italy. He moved back to Germany in 2014 to Ristorante Il Valentino in Cologne, purchasing it one year later. It is here that the young Sicilian chef wants to narrate his roots and the traditions of his land with his dishes. To do this he skilfully balances his personal taste and his respect towards raw materials and seasonality.
