Roberto Pirelli è siciliano, innamorato della sua terra, fonte di ispirazione per i suoi piatti. Ha girato il mondo per oltre un decennio così da approfondire anche le culture gastronomiche più esotiche. Rientrato in Italia, dopo aver affiancato grandi maestri di fama nazionale, ha aperto nel 2005 il Ristorante Il Ritrovo a Carate Brianza (MB).
Il desiderio però era riavvicinarsi a casa. E allora, nell’estate del 2017, ecco realizzarsi un sogno: Pirelli apre il Ristorante ViDi all’interno della residenza storica di charme Castello Tafuri Charming Suites a Portopalo di Capo Passero (SR), nel lembo sud orientale della Sicilia.
Qui, nella sala o ad uno dei tavoli collocati nella splendida terrazza a strapiombo sul mare, Roberto Pirelli sceglie prima di tutto materie prime di qualità che sappiano raccontare il territorio: pesce, crostacei, olio d’oliva ed erbe aromatiche. I colori dei suoi piatti sono vivaci, i sapori intensi e rappresentativi. Questa è la filosofia di Roberto che si rispecchia anche nel nome stesso del locale: ViDi, vedere il passato con gli occhi di oggi.

Roberto Pirelli comes from Sicily and he loves his land, whence he get the inspiration for his dishes. He traveled all around the world for more than 10 years and deepened even the most exotic cultures of cooking. He worked side by side with great international chefs, then he came back to Italy and opened the Ristorante Il Ritrovo in Carate Brianza.
But Roberto Pirelli desired to approach his region. In summer 2017 his dream became true: he opened the ViDi Restaurant inside the historical residence of Castello Tafuri Charming Suites in Portopalo di Capo Passero, Siracusa, in the southwest part of Sicily. Here, Roberto Pirelli chooses only high quality raw products, able to tell the story of the region: fish, shellfish, olive oil, spicy herbs.
The colours of his dishes are bright, the flavours are intense and representative. This is Roberto’s philosophy and it reflects the name of the restaurant – ViDi – that is, see the past through the eyes of today.
